The Royal Canadian Mint is releasing two collector coins commemorating the April 29 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The $20 coin was designed by portrait artist Laurie McGaw of Guelph, ON. A sapphire crystal is embedded in the coin to signify Kate’s 18-carat sapphire and diamondengagementring and there is an engraving of “HRH Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton” in English and French with a heart nestled in maple leaves. The coin’s availability will be limited to 25,000 worldwide, going on sale April 18 for $104.95.
